National Indigenous History Month

June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to learn about and reflect on the histories, cultures and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

As legal practitioners, ongoing learning about Indigenous histories, perspectives and legal traditions is an important part of supporting meaningful reconciliation and advancing respectful relationships with Indigenous governments and communities.

We encourage everyone to take the opportunity this month to learn more about Indigenous histories and cultures, and to participate in local events and initiatives in their communities.
