We are delighted to announce that Kate Mix has joined the Arbutus Law Group as an Articling Student on May 19, 2026. Kate is a first-generation Canadian settler of British ancestry born and raised in Calgary on Treaty 7 territory. She has a joint degree in Canadian Common Law and Indigenous Legal Orders (JD/JID) from the University of Victoria. She continues to work and live on the territories of the lək̓ʷəŋən People.
Kate has experience working on projects supporting Indigenous resurgent action and community legal goals. She is passionate about using the law as a tool to support community-driven priorities and self-determination for Indigenous communities.
