On Wednesday, May 20, 2020, 9:00am – 11:00am (PT), Kathryn Deo along with Shayla Point and Marie Potvin, will present on the First Nations Fiscal Management Act and the roles of three institutions established under the Act. Shayla Point will discuss the history and creation of the Act as well as the role of the First Nations Financial Management Board. Kathryn Deo will discuss the role of the First Nations Financial Authority under the Act and Marie Potvin will discuss the role of the First Nations Tax Commission under the Act. The panelists will provide an overview of the respective institutions, the services provided and how these services align with a lawyer’s role throughout the process.
