Law and Policy Development

We work with Indigenous governments, communities and entities to develop and implement a wide range of laws, by-laws, policies and procedures to support good governance.

Our work includes drafting, implementing and advising on:

  • laws under Self-Government Agreements
  • Constitutions
  • laws under sectoral self-government legislation including the First Nations Fiscal Management Act, the Framework Agreement on First Nations Land Management Act and An Act Respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis Children, Youth and Families
  • Indian Act bylaws
  • bylaws for societies, non-for-profit organizations and companies
  • financial administration laws, policies and procedures
  • laws and policies respecting conflicts of interest, land management and human resources

We also deliver workshops and training on a broad range of topics related to governance.
