On April 21, 2026, Kathryn Deo presented with Councillor Jordan Coble from Westbank and Councillor Alec Guerin from Musqueam at a gathering in Kelowna to discuss access to the First Nations Fiscal Management Act (“FMA”) for self-governments. The focus of the presentation was on the need for self-governments to have access to the tax powers under the FMA. It includes excerpts of what adaptation regulations could look like that include the tax powers for self-governments.
